The mergers and acquisitions market in Angola is expected to grow this year to 642.40 million dollars, according to the German statistics agency Statista. According to the Competition Regulation Authority (ARC), 17 mergers were notified last year, mostly in the oil sector (29 per cent).
Ana Major, a specialist in the Lusophone area and international consultant at Melo Alves, told Jornal Económico that the increase ‘is closely linked to foreign investors’.
‘M&A activity in Angola will certainly reflect the large global increase in this activity around the world.’
