Bruno Melo Alves is the new partner at Melo Alves

Bruno Melo Alves joins Melo Alves Advogados as a partner to strengthen the firm's criminal and misdemeanour litigation, compliance and internal investigations practice, and to boost the firm's international practice, in particular the Asian and Angola Desks.

Bruno joins founding partners Carlos Melo Alves and Tiago Melo Alves.

The new partner joins from VdA - Vieira de Almeida e Associados, where he had been a managing associate in the areas of Misdemeanour Litigation and Criminal Law since 2015.  He previously worked in the Litigation and Labour department at Miranda & Associados.

Throughout his career Bruno has provided legal advice to multinationals in sectors such as oil and gas, banking, mining, telecommunications, health and insurance, which guarantee him an important international background. 

Bruno  is qualified as a lawyer in Portugal and East Timor, and has significant experience in Portuguese-speaking countries, advising clients on anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, criminal, regulatory and labour law. He is also the author of collective works and articles in specialised magazines on Angolan labour and criminal law.
