Comment by Carlos Melo Alves | ‘Prevention and investigation are the formula for responding to arson crimes’
In an interview with Antena 1 radio, Carlos Melo Alves defended prevention and investigation as the formula for responding to arson offences.
‘From the perspective of fighting crime, the most effective way is for the authorities to be swift and efficient in detecting and quickly holding to account the agents who commit these offences.’
He also defends the need to create special teams to investigate this type of crime, ‘which would be the best way to deter people who are prone to this type of offence’.
