Melo Alves and MFA Legal establish partnership for the Angolan market

Melo Alves and MFA Legal announce the establishing of a strategic partnership for the Lusophone markets, with a special focus on Angola.

Melo Alves operates in the Angolan market under the Melo Alves Global brand, with the support of its partner, the Angolan law firm ECKaley. Melo Alves Global has a multidisciplinary team with relevant experience in the labour law, litigation, compliance, and economic criminal law. In addition, MFA Legal, a highly specialised tax advisory and litigation team with more than 15 years of experience advising multinationals in various economic sectors, particularly in the O&G, energy, infrastructure and transport sectors, has just joined the firm under this agreement.

Both parties agree this "partnership will allow Melo Alves and MFA Legal to strengthen and diversify their portfolio of services and will certainly represent a huge added value for the clients of both firms."

According to the Melo Alves partnersBruno Melo Alves and Tiago Melo Alves “the logic of complementarity on which the agreement is based, will be reflected in the provision of more comprehensive and specialised legal advice by a multidisciplinary team with in-depth knowledge of the Lusophone markets."  Both add that "we welcome with great enthusiasm this partnership that is an important step in strengthening our international positioning and opens up a new cycle of collaboration with the Angolan market."

For Samuel Fernandes de Almeida, Managing Partner of MFA Legal "we are delighted to announce this partnership. A strategic partnership that brings together highly competent professionals in their specific areas of expertise, who have worked together for many years and know each other very well." Samuel Fernandes de Almeida believes that "this partnership is part of the strategy to grow and strengthen the presence of the two offices in the Portuguese-speaking area, particularly in Angola, with an offer of integrated and highly specialized legal services."
