17 June 2024 Melo Alves establishes cooperation agreement with LS Lawyers in Macau

Melo Alves has entered into a cooperation agreement with LS Lawyers in Macau, aimed at enhancing legal services and client experience in both jurisdictions. The agreement was formalized by Jorge Chang, partner at Melo Alves and head of the Asian Desk, and by Liu Xiaocui and Song Xiaoyong, partners from LS Lawyers.

Melo Alves will provide LS with training in various legal fields in Portugal, strengthening the legal profession in Macau and Portugal. This initiative aims to fortify the legal profession in Macau while simultaneously enriching the legal landscape in Portugal. Under the terms of the agreement, the two entities will engage in mutual legal support, facilitate the exchange of legal insights and documentation, and fostering commercial collaborations in the legal professions between the two locations.

Jorge Chang maintains a strong connection to Macau, where he is from and where he has established relationships with colleagues and clients. LS is located in the Macau Special Administrative Region and specializes in provides local legal services in the specializes in a broad range of legal practices, including civil, commercial, criminal, administrative, intellectual property law, among others.

According to a statement from Melo Alves, “The aim of signing this agreement is to strengthen the partnership, further improve services and client experience, and provide high quality, comprehensive and convenient professional services to clients in Macau and Portugal in need of legal services”.
