Melo Alves strengthens its criminal law practice with André Fortunato´arrival

Melo Alves has strengthened its criminal and regulatory defence litigation, and compliance areas with the arrival of the new associate André Fortunato.

Having worked in VdA's regulatory defence litigation and criminal law department (2017 - 2019) and in the Lisbon office of Linklaters LLP as a trainee lawyer (2014), he has focused his practice on legal advice in the areas of criminal and litigation, particularly in the competition, environment, health, and telecommunications sectors, and on the prevention of corruption and money laundering.

André also worked as an assistant in the offices of the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the XXIII Constitutional Government (2022 - 2023) and the Minister of Justice of the XXII Constitutional Government (2019 - 2022).

André Fortunato has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and is studying for a master's degree at the same institution in the specialty of criminal law and criminal sciences.
