Tiago Melo Alves apperaed on the CNN Today programme where he analysed the ‘BES’ trial.

‘Everyone wants the BES trial to be quick’, but Tiago Melo Alves stresses that “justice has its time”: “If someone is convicted, they will be convicted with all the guarantees of defence” and this only strengthens the case for a possible conviction.

‘What the court says is that the person has to be judged, must be judged - even to prove that they are in a situation of non-imputability - and then resolves this in the execution of the sentence,’ explains Tiago Melo Alves on the situation of the defendant Ricardo Salgado.
